The General section is an important place for configuring some global values that will affect most elements of your website on a site-wide basis.

1. **RTL (Right to Left)**: enable this setting for languages that are read from right to left, ensuring your website is accessible and user-friendly for a global audience.
2. **Scroll Top Button**: activate a button that allows users to quickly scroll back to the top of the page, improving navigation and user experience on long pages.
3. **Color Switcher**: turn on a feature that allows users to switch between light and dark color schemes, providing a customizable experience for different preferences or accessibility needs.
4. **Default Color Scheme**: choose the default color scheme for your website, which can be set to either a light or dark mode, influencing the overall aesthetic and readability of your content.
5. **Container Width**: set the maximum width for the main content container, which affects how content is laid out and is crucial for design coherence across different screen sizes.
**Note!** The container width setting only applies where this container is directly used, specifically in certain widgets, in the global template parts (navigation/footer), etc. But in terms of content built through Elementor, you need to change the layout width additionally. You can do this [as follows](https://elementor.com/help/global-layout-settings/).
