## Single post settings in the Customizer Product: Verba - Modern Blog & Magazine WordPress Theme URL: https://hub.jkdevstudio.com/docs/verba/the-single-post/single-customizer Updated: 2026-09-24 Summary: Every Customizer setting for the article page in the free theme: column width, sidebar, the post header and its meta line, comments, post navigation, and related posts. The free theme configures the article page at [[Appearance > Customize > Single Post]]. It has six tabs, one for each part of the page, from top to bottom.
With Pro installed, these settings keep working while [[Verba > Theme Options > Single Post]] has **Single Post Source** set to **Native**, which is the default. Switch it to **Advanced** and the Theme Options layout takes over the article page.
## General :::options - **Content Layout** (default: boxed): Boxed keeps the article in a narrow reading column; wide lets it run the width of the container. - **Boxed Width** (default: 720): The width of that column in pixels, for the boxed layout. - **Background Pattern** (boolean, default: on): Shows the site pattern behind the post. - **Container Frame** (boolean, default: on): Draws the frame around the article. The pattern needs it, so the frame stays on while the pattern is on. - **Content Padding** and **Section spacing**: Space inside the article and between its parts. - **Show helper UI elements** (boolean, default: on): Status notices, the password notice, and the edit shortcut for signed-in editors. - **Enable Related Posts** (boolean, default: on): The related posts block at the end of the article. ::: ## Sidebar The sidebar is on by default, but it only appears once the **Single Post Sidebar** widget area at [[Appearance > Widgets]] has something in it. On narrow screens it moves behind a **Show sidebar** button. The tab sets its position (left or right), width, the gap to the article, and whether it stays pinned while the reader scrolls, to the top or the bottom of the screen. ## Header **Header Style** has two options in the free theme. **Classic** puts the title above the image; **Overlay** puts it on top of the image, with a darkening scrim you can style and tune. Pro adds more styles, covered in [Post header styles](https://hub.jkdevstudio.com/docs/verba/the-single-post/header-style). The rest of the tab decides what the header shows: the media, breadcrumbs, the category label (all categories or only the first), the publish date, reading time, and the author with or without an avatar. You can also set the title size and alignment and fix the image to one shape instead of its own. **Show image credits** prints a credit line under the featured image or in its corner. **Credit source** picks the image field it reads from: caption, description, title, or alt text. ## Footer **Comments block** shows or hides the whole comments area, and **Collapse comments** puts it behind a toggle. With **Limit tags** on, only the first few show, followed by a **Show all** link. ## Post Navigation **Previous and Next Posts** adds two cards linking to the neighboring articles. Show them side by side or stacked, and choose what each card carries: thumbnail, direction label, title, category, date, and author. ## Related Posts The heading, how many posts, the columns, the card type, and **Relation**, which decides how posts are matched: by category, by tag, by author, or a mix of the three. I turned the sidebar on and it doesn't appear The **Single Post Sidebar** widget area is empty. Add a block to it at [[Appearance > Widgets]].
The overlay settings are missing They only appear while **Header Style** is set to **Overlay**.
