The Adesa blocks - Adesa

Blocks and patterns Pro
This article covers functionality available to customers on the Pro version.

The Pro plugin adds these blocks to the editor. Find them all by typing adesa in the inserter. Each one keeps its settings in the block sidebar.

#Posts and listings

Post Listing

Posts as a grid, a moving ticker or one featured post, with card, list or overlay cards and a full query (categories, tags, authors, formats, dates, sorting, offset, no repeats on the page). The home page sections and the sidebars use it. Its settings are the same ones archives use in Theme Options.

Featured Posts

A curated-looking selection from one category, laid out as an editorial group.

Cascading Slider

Featured or latest stories in a carousel where the cards cascade behind each other.

Post Dock

A compact card that cycles through a few stories, with numbered pages and an optional autoplay ring. The home page hero uses it for editor's picks.

Categories List

Post or event categories with their images, post counts and descriptions, as image pills or a list.

Event Listing

Upcoming or past events as rows led by the date. Needs the Events integration.

#People

Authors Grid

Author portraits with their role, city, social profiles and the topics they write about most.

Team Member

One round portrait with a name and a role. The Compact style fits four in a row.

Avatar Stack

A row of overlapping portraits that quietly cycle, with one Avatar block inside for each person.

#Media

Video Banner

A self-hosted, YouTube or Vimeo video that plays in place or opens in a player window, over a poster image.

Before / After

Two images under one divider the reader drags to compare them.

Image Hotspots

An image with markers that open short notes. Add one Hotspot block inside for each marker.

Decorative Cards

A small stack of tilted picture cards, for decoration beside text.

#Page furniture

Section Heading

A section title with an optional subtitle and a line under it that draws in as the section appears.

Sidebar

Places a widget area as a sticky column inside a page, the way the home page shows its sidebar.

Ad Banner

An advertisement from a media library image with a sponsored link, or your own ad code.

Social Links

The social profiles set once in AppearanceCustomizeBranding, as icon links.

Time Greeting

A greeting that changes with the reader's time of day, with an optional place and flag.

Current Year

The current year, always up to date, with optional text before it. Handy in footers.

The blocks come with the Pro plugin.

With the plugin turned off, pages keep their content, and these blocks stop rendering until it is back. See installing the Pro plugin.
