From your account you can take four commercial actions without contacting anybody: add activation units to a license you already have, move to unlimited, upgrade the tier, or buy another product.
Each starts from the card for the item or the license in question, so the product is already selected when you get to checkout.
What you already paid is applied as credit.
The offers in your account are priced against the license you hold, so an upgrade costs the difference, not the full price. A public pricing page cannot do this, because it does not know which license you have.
#Adding activation units
One unit is one domain. Your license came with a fixed number, and this is how you raise it.
You need it when every slot is in use and another site is waiting.
What changes is the number of domains the license allows. Nothing changes on the sites already running.
The key does not change.
The same key gets a larger allowance, so there is nothing to re-enter and nothing to reinstall on the sites you already have live.
Before you buy one, check two things:
- A staging site does not spend a unit. Every license carries one free staging slot on top of the domains you paid for, for a site that passes the staging check, so a test environment is not what is filling your allowance.
- Freeing a domain frees its unit. If one of the sites in the list is a site you no longer run, deactivating it puts the slot back at no cost.
#Moving to unlimited
Individual units raise the ceiling by a known number. Unlimited removes the ceiling. Work out which you need before you decide.
The total is shown before you confirm, and the new allowance applies as soon as the purchase completes.
#Upgrading the tier
The tier is a different question from the count: it decides what the license does. Premium and Agency include automatic updates, every integration, every demo, priority support and feature requests. The Regular tier a marketplace purchase carries gets only the demos and integrations marked available to Envato and none of the rest, and that list may grow as paid features are added.
If you bought on Envato, the upgrade offer is on the license in your account, credited with the author share of what you paid there.
#Agency comes with a code toward your next purchase
Buying the Agency tier issues a discount code for whatever you buy next, automatically, at the moment the key becomes yours. It arrives in the purchase email and is shown on the thank-you page.
It is a fixed amount, not a percentage, so its value does not depend on what you spend it on, and it is valid for a stated period. The current amount and period are printed with the code.
#Buying another product
You go from your account into checkout, and the new item appears in your list once payment is complete. It arrives with its own license, its own documentation and its own version history.
The dashboard also carries the rest of the catalog, so you do not need to start on the website.
#After any of these
Go back to your licenses and confirm three things: the new item is listed, the activation limit is what you expect, and the domains in use are the ones you think they are.
#Common questions
Do I get a discount for adding activations later?
Not on units themselves: the price shown at checkout is the price. Whether adding later costs the same as buying up front depends on current pricing, not on a fixed rule. The one guaranteed discount is the Agency code described above, which comes with the Agency tier and applies to your next purchase.
Will my existing sites be disturbed?
No. They keep their activations and their settings and do not need to be touched, because the allowance lives on the key, not on the sites.
Can I reduce the number of activations?
Releasing a domain frees its slot at any time. Reducing what you purchased is a support question; the account cannot do it on its own.
Does unlimited cover client sites?
It covers the number of domains, which is the limit unlimited removes. What you may build on those domains is governed by the license terms, not by the count.
Can I do this with an Envato license?
Yes. Units and upgrades are offered on an Envato license from the same screen, and the marketplace purchase counts as credit toward an upgrade. Adding units leaves the tier as Regular and only allows more domains, so the Premium upgrade is what changes what the license does.
Before you start there, though: a marketplace copy costs more than buying Premium directly, because the marketplace price carries its fees on top. Starting on Envato and upgrading afterwards means paying the higher price first and the difference second, and buying Premium directly at the outset costs less than both.
The new allowance has not appeared
Reload your account first, because the payment confirmation can take a moment to arrive. If the purchase is listed but the limit is not, open a ticket with the order reference.
#Still stuck
Open a support ticket and say what you tried and where it stopped. Your product, your domain, a screenshot and the exact message you saw are usually enough to settle it in one reply.
