About this documentation - Auno
Auno is a minimal portfolio theme for designers, illustrators, developers and small studios. It is a block theme: every page, from the header to the footer, is made of blocks and changed in the Site Editor, with no page builder in between. These docs cover what Auno does and where each part of it is changed.
#What Auno needs
Auno needs WordPress 7.0 or later and PHP 8.1 or later, and it is tested up to WordPress 7.1. The rest of the server checklist, memory and upload limits included, is in server requirements. No third-party plugin is required: the theme runs on its own, and the Auno Pro plugin adds the portfolio and the integrations on top.

#Words used in these docs
- Site Editor
The editor at AppearanceEditor, where the whole site is changed: its styles, templates, template parts and patterns.
- Styles
The design settings of the whole site, at AppearanceEditorStyles: colors, fonts, sizes, spacing and widths. Auno stores its defaults in
theme.json.- Template
The layout of one kind of page, such as the blog, a single post or a project.
- Template part
A piece shared by many templates: the header, the footer and the mobile menu.
- Pattern
A ready-made section, such as the hero or the FAQ, inserted from the block inserter and edited like any other blocks.
- Block style
A look for one block, picked in the Styles panel of the block's settings, such as List row for a group or Cover for an image.
- Customizer
AppearanceCustomizeAuno Theme, where Auno keeps the behavior that
theme.jsoncannot hold: animations, page transitions, the color scheme switch, the glow and the music.- Auno Pro
The plugin sold with the theme. It adds the portfolio, its media formats, more patterns and blocks, and the integrations.
- Project
One piece of work in the portfolio, added at PortfolioAdd New Project once Auno Pro is active.
#Where to start
Install the theme and activate your license, add Auno Pro, then import the demo if you want a finished site to edit. The order and every step are in the quick start. After that, where to change each part of Auno is the map for everything else.
