Uninstall & Cleanup
Before you remove Cronix PRO, here is what to expect — and what to do first to avoid losing data or leaving your license tied up on this domain.
#Deactivating vs. Deleting
Deactivate — the plugin stops running but all data is preserved. Settings, execution logs, snapshots, and custom schedules remain intact. Reactivating restores everything exactly as you left it.
Delete — removes the plugin files and runs a full cleanup:
- All 7 custom database tables are dropped
- The
cronix_settingsoption is removed fromwp_options - All transient caches are cleared
- Custom capabilities are removed from user roles
- Scheduled health-ping events are unregistered
#Before You Delete
Do these two things before clicking Delete:
-
Deactivate your license — go to the Activation page and click Deactivate. This frees the license for use on another domain. If you skip this step, you will need to contact support to release the license manually.
-
Export your settings — go to Settings > Export and download a JSON backup. If you reinstall later, you can restore everything in seconds.
#Multisite
On a Multisite installation, deleting the plugin at the network level cleans up data on every site in the network. If the plugin was network-activated, deactivation must also happen at the network level first.
#Clean Uninstall Confirmation
When Cronix PRO is deleted, it logs a confirmation message to the PHP error log confirming all tables were dropped. You can verify the cleanup was complete by checking that the following tables no longer exist in your database:
{prefix}cronix_events{prefix}cronix_log{prefix}cronix_snapshots{prefix}cronix_chains{prefix}cronix_quotas{prefix}cronix_violations{prefix}cronix_audit
