Bundled Plugins
Monogram includes two premium plugins bundled directly within the theme package. These plugins are essential to the theme functionality and are provided at no additional cost with your purchase.
#JKDEVKIT
JKDEVKIT is the jkdevstudio framework plugin that serves as the foundation for all jkdevstudio themes. It provides several critical services:
- License Activation - The license activation system that validates your Envato purchase code against the jkdevstudio Hub. Without JKDEVKIT, you cannot activate your license or receive automatic updates.
- Kirki Customizer Wrapper - A bridge layer between the theme Customizer settings and the Kirki framework, ensuring all 17 Customizer panels load and save correctly.
- Shared Utilities - Helper functions and classes used across the theme and companion plugin.
- Update Checker - Connects to Hub to check for and deliver theme updates to your WordPress dashboard.
JKDEVKIT must be installed and activated before you can activate your license or access the full Customizer settings. If you deactivate it, the license system and many Customizer options will stop functioning.
#Advanced Custom Fields PRO
Advanced Custom Fields PRO (ACF PRO) is the industry-standard custom fields plugin for WordPress. Monogram uses it extensively for structured content across the theme:
#Portfolio Fields
ACF PRO powers the rich portfolio metadata system, including:
- Project style - Selects one of 4 single page layout styles
- Project subtitle and summary - Short text displayed on the project page
- Media type and files - Image, gallery, video, GIF, or 3D model fields
- Client information - Client name and avatar
- Project duration - Timeline information
- Project URL - Link to the live project
- Featured toggle - Marks items as featured
#Header Fields
Custom header meta fields for logo, tagline, and menu configuration.
#Menu Fields
Custom fields added to WordPress menu items for enhanced navigation display.
Do not replace the bundled ACF PRO with a free version of ACF. The theme requires ACF PRO features (repeater fields, flexible content, options pages) that are not available in the free version. Using the free version will cause missing fields and broken layouts.
#How Bundled Plugins Are Installed
Bundled plugins are packaged as .zip files within the theme directory. When you activate Monogram and follow the TGMPA notification to install required plugins, WordPress extracts and installs them from the theme package - no separate download or purchase is needed.

TGMPA handles the extraction and installation automatically.
#Keeping Bundled Plugins Updated
Bundled plugins are updated through theme updates, not independently. When a new version of Monogram is released, it includes the latest compatible versions of JKDEVKIT and ACF PRO. See Bundled Plugin Limits and Restrictions for important details on managing these plugins.
