Missing Features
If certain features seem to be missing from your Monogram installation, the cause is almost always a required plugin that isn't active. Here a quick checklist to get everything working.
#Portfolio or FAQ Sections Missing
The portfolio and FAQ custom post types are registered by the JKD Theme Core Plugin, not the theme itself. If you don't see Portfolio or FAQ in your WordPress admin menu:
- Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins
- Find JKD Theme Core Plugin and click Activate
- If it's not listed, go to Appearance > Install Plugins and install it from the TGMPA notification
Warning: The core plugin only activates when the Monogram theme is the active theme. If you're using a child theme, make sure it properly identifies as a Monogram child theme.
#Custom Widgets Not in Elementor
Monogram includes 22 custom Elementor widgets (portfolio grid, testimonials, counters, and more). If they don't appear in the Elementor editor:
- Make sure both Elementor and JKD Theme Core Plugin are active
- Look for the JKD category in the Elementor widget panel
- Clear your browser cache and reload the editor
#Theme Options Panel Empty
The Customizer options (colors, typography, portfolio settings, animations, and more) are powered by the Kirki plugin.
- Go to Appearance > Install Plugins
- Install and activate Kirki
- Open Appearance > Customize - all 17 settings panels should now appear
#Custom Fields Not Showing
Portfolio items use Advanced Custom Fields for project details like client name, media type, and project URL.
- Install and activate Advanced Custom Fields PRO
- Field groups are registered by the core plugin, so both ACF PRO and the core plugin must be active
#License and Updates Not Working
Automatic theme updates require an active license.
- Install and activate the JKDEVKIT plugin
- Go to the JKDEVKIT settings page
- Activate your license
#Other Features to Check
Several features are controlled by Customizer toggles. If something seems missing, check these settings in Appearance > Customize:
Feature | Setting | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Smooth scroll | the Smooth Scroll toggle | Desktop only |
Sound toggle in navigation | the Sound & Audio toggle | Must be set to true |
Custom cursor | the Custom Cursor toggle | Desktop only |
Page transitions (SPA) | the Page Transitions toggle | Test with |
Grain texture overlay | the Grain Overlay toggle | Desktop only |
Preloader animation | the Preloader toggle | Shows on initial page load |
Tip: You can test any Customizer setting by adding it as a URL parameter. For example, visit
yoursite.com/?barba_enabled=falseto temporarily disable page transitions.
