Where listings are used
"I can see a list of posts, where do I change it?" is the most common question about this mechanism. This page answers it.
#The surfaces
Archives: category, tag, author, date, and search. Here the listing is the main content of the page. See Archives in the free theme and Advanced archives.
The front page and any other page: as a block or as an Elementor widget, with as many listings on one page as you like.
The post page: related posts, read also, and selections under the article. See Related posts and read also.
The header and mega menus: a selection of posts inside a dropdown. See Category mega menus.
Sidebars and content zones: see Basic settings and Content zones and insertions.
Term listings have their own places: a category tile grid on the front page, a catalog, the category ticker, and a term selection inside a mega menu.
#Finding the settings for one specific listing
The rule, rather than a table:
A listing is configured where it was placed from. Placed as a block, its settings are in the block inspector. As a widget, in the Elementor panel. By a theme template, in Theme Options. On a specific category, in that category fields.
This is the same confusion described in "I changed a setting and nothing happened," and it has the same cure: find the thing that put the list there.
