This article covers functionality available to customers on the Pro version.

A narrow strip at the very top of the site, above the navigation. It is turned on and configured in the navigation settings rather than in a section of its own. See The header and Menus.

What goes in it: a short message, a link, a button. Or several messages in sequence, with a transition between them.

It is noticeable precisely because it sits above everything else, which is why one message there works better than five.

#The six groups

Two of the six groups do not exist until you choose the multiple messages mode. If you are looking for the rotation settings and cannot find them, that is why.

Visibility: Where the bar content comes from, an Elementor template or a block pattern, the mode (one message or several), and the close button with its label.
Single message: The label, text, link text, and URL. Only in single message mode.
Messages: The list of messages. Only in the multiple mode, and it is what enables the next group.
Rotation: How messages change, the speed, and pausing on hover. Multiple mode only.
Dismissal: The deepest group and the most useful. Where a dismissal is stored, what it covers, for how many days, whether the bar returns after the message changes, and separately whether administrators see it and whether dismissal applies to them.
Appearance: Which devices show it, border, layout, custom width, padding, radius, background, and your own background and text colors.

When a visitor closes the bar, it does not come back on every page. Say that to yourself before concluding the setting is broken: the dismissal is remembered, which is the entire point of the group.

#Mobile

There is very little room in a top strip on a phone, and a long message behaves differently there than in your preview. Write for the narrow screen first, then check the wide one.

#Where else it can go

The bar is available as an Elementor widget and as a block, so it is not confined to the header. See Elementor widgets and The block editor.

Do not confuse it with two other things. The call to action above the footer is at the bottom of the page and does a different job. Before you go appears when somebody is leaving.

I changed the message and returning visitors still do not see the bar

They dismissed the previous one. Turn on showing the bar again after the message changes, which is exactly the case that setting exists for.

I cannot see the bar as an administrator

Check the administrator settings in the dismissal group. They are separate so you can test without your own earlier dismissal getting in the way.
