The footer - Verba
The footer is configured at AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeFooter, on four tabs: General, Appearance, Branding, and Posts Ticker. Its content comes from widget areas and menus you fill elsewhere.
#What is in it
- Widget columns
The main part of the footer. Fill the Footer Columns and Footer Full Width widget areas at AppearanceWidgets. On the General tab, Footer Sidebar turns the widget row on or off, and Widget Columns, Widget Column Gap, and Widget Row Padding set its layout. See Widget areas.
- Width
Footer Layout on the Appearance tab keeps the footer boxed, makes it wide, or runs it the full width of the screen. Divider Line draws a line above it.
- Logo
The global logo, or your own light and dark pair with Logo Source set to Use custom values on the Branding tab. See Logo and site identity.
- Copyright
The Main Copyright line from AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeGeneral, unless you fill Footer Copyright Override on the Branding tab.
{year}prints the current year.- Social links
The Social Profiles list from the Social tab of AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeGeneral, defined once and reused here.
- Footer menus
Two locations, Footer Menu 1 and Footer Menu 2, independent of the main navigation. Assign menus at AppearanceMenus. See Menus: creating and customizing.
- Scheme toggle
Scheme Toggle on Desktop (on) and Scheme Toggle on Mobile (off), on the General tab. See Set up dark mode.
- Reveal animation
Reveal Animation animates the footer into place as it scrolls into view.
#The posts ticker
A moving line of posts, on by default, set on the Posts Ticker tab. It can sit above the call to action, at the top of the footer, or at the bottom. See The posts ticker.
#With Pro
VerbaTheme OptionsFooter adds three source switches on the General tab:
- Footer Source
Native (the default), Elementor Template, Block Pattern, or Off. A template or pattern replaces the whole footer, for a composition the native footer doesn't offer.
- CTA Source
- Posts Ticker Source
Native (the Customizer ticker), Advanced (a full post listing), Elementor Template, Block Pattern, or Off.
The footer is where a reader has already decided to leave. Three columns of links and a subscribe form work better than ten columns of everything you have.
My footer widget columns are empty
The widget areas have no blocks. The Customizer controls the layout; the content comes from AppearanceWidgets.
Can I hide the footer on one page?
On a page, yes, with Pro: turn off Footer in that page's Page Settings panel in the editor. See Page fields and per-page layout.
