Related posts and read also

Two blocks of posts sit at the end of an article, and the difference between them is who chooses the posts.

Related posts are selected automatically by their relationship to the current post; you choose which relationship in the settings. Read also are posts you picked by hand on the post itself, in its Editorial panel.

Both can be on at once, and that is a normal setup: your hand-picked pointers under the text, the automatic selection under those.

Placement is adjustable. The block can run the full width under the article or stay inside the text column.

#They are ordinary post listings

The main thing to know about these blocks: they have no styling system of their own. They use the same settings schema as any other listing on the site, so the card type, columns, meta, and everything else are configured the way you already know. See Post listings and Customizing the look.

The strongest option is the advanced listing in Theme Options, which gives you the full set of both appearance and query settings.

Like any other zone on the site, the block can be replaced with an Elementor template or a block pattern when you need your own composition. See Content zones and insertions.

#The free level

Related posts exist without Pro. They are switched on and configured in the Customizer, with a simpler set of options.

Read also does not exist in the free version, because it depends on a post field. There is no partial version of it.

The related block shows nothing

The relationship rule found no other posts. On a young site with one post per category that happens often; widen the rule, or wait until you have more material.

Can I control the order of read also posts?

Yes, they appear in the order you added them on the post, and you can drag the rows.

Which relationship rule should I use?

Same category is the usual choice and produces sensible results on most sites. Tag-based selection is sharper but needs disciplined tagging to be worth it.
