Summarize with AI

The theme does not summarize anything and does not contact any AI service. The summarize row is a set of links. Clicking one opens that chat in a new tab with a prompt already filled in, including the address of the article.

So: no API keys, no per-request billing, and no data leaving your site. The summary is produced by the service, on the reader side, under their own account.

One consequence for your expectations. The quality of the summary depends on whether that chat can open your URL. A password-protected or unindexed post cannot be summarized this way.

#Set it up

Go to VerbaTheme OptionsSingle PostBody, group Summarize With AI. The block is off by default.

#Writing the prompt

Two variables are available: {url} for the article address and {title} for its title. One prompt covers the whole site; it is not set per post.

A few that work:

Summarize this article for me: {url}

Read {url} and give me the five main points as a short list.

Explain the article "{title}" at {url} in plain language, as if I am new to the subject.

#Should you turn it on

Both sides are real, which is why it is off by default.

The row saves a reader time, and some readers will use it whether you offer it or not. It also invites them to go and read a retelling instead of your article, which matters if your site earns from attention or if the writing itself is the point.

For news and reference material it is usually fine. For essays, criticism, and ad-supported publishing, think about it first.

Does this cost me anything?

No. There is no account, no key, and no request from your server. It is a link with a query string.

Can I add a service that is not in the list?

The destinations list is what the theme ships with. If a service you need is missing, tell support what it is; that is how the list grows.

Will the AI see content behind a paywall?

No. It fetches the page as an anonymous visitor, so it sees exactly what a logged-out reader sees.
