Single post settings in the Customizer - Verba

The free theme configures the article page at AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeSingle Post. It has six tabs, one for each part of the page, from top to bottom.

#General

#Sidebar

The sidebar is on by default, but it only appears once the Single Post Sidebar widget area at AppearanceWidgets has something in it. See Widget areas if the area is new to you.

The tab sets its position (left or right), width, the gap to the article, and whether it stays pinned while the reader scrolls, to the top or the bottom of the screen.

On phones and tablets the sidebar moves behind a Show sidebar button and opens as a drawer. Mobile sidebar button picks the button's look (filled, secondary, or outlined), and Sidebar title is the heading at the top of the drawer.

#Header

Header Style has two options in the free theme. Classic puts the title above the image; Overlay puts it on top of the image, with a darkening scrim you can style and tune. Pro adds more styles, covered in Post header styles.

The rest of the tab decides what the header shows: the media, breadcrumbs, the category label (all categories or only the first), the publish date, reading time, and the author with or without an avatar. You can also set the title size and alignment and fix the image to one shape, or a custom height, instead of its own.

Show image credits prints a credit line for the featured image. Credit source picks the image field it reads from (caption, description, title, or alt text), Fall back to description fills in when that field is empty, and Credit position puts the line under the image or in its corner.

#Footer

Comments block shows or hides the whole comments area, Collapse comments puts it behind a toggle, and Closed comments note tells readers when a post has comments turned off. See Comments.

Show tags lists the post's tags. With Limit tags on, only the first few show, followed by a Show all link.

#Post Navigation

Previous and Next Posts adds two cards linking to the neighboring articles. Show them side by side or stacked, and choose what each card carries: thumbnail, direction label, title, category, date, and author.

#Related Posts

The heading, how many posts, the columns, the card type (card, overlay, or classic), and Relation, which decides how posts are matched: by category, by tag, by author, or Smart mix, which combines all three. More in Related posts and read also.

I turned the sidebar on and it doesn't appear

The Single Post Sidebar widget area is empty. Add a block to it at AppearanceWidgets.

The overlay settings are missing

They only appear while Header Style is set to Overlay.

I can't find Container Frame

It's hidden while Background Pattern is on, because the pattern always draws the frame. Turn the pattern off to choose.
