Blog: how posts are presented
VerbaTheme OptionsBlog holds the rules that apply everywhere posts are shown: archives, blocks under an article, sliders, anywhere. That is why it has its own page instead of sitting inside the archive settings.
One distinction to get straight before you start. This page sets how posts are presented. What ends up in a particular list is decided by the settings of that list, described in Post listings.
#Post visibility
Shows drafts and pending posts in listings while you are signed in.
Useful while you are preparing a batch of material: the page looks the way it will look after publishing, without publishing anything.
Visitors never see these. The check is on your login, so a logged-out reader gets the ordinary published list.
#Authors
Adds a quiet note after a guest writer's name.
This group only appears when the co-authors integration is active, since that integration is what knows who is a guest.
#Post titles in listings
Gives the opening words of a listing title more weight than the rest. It is a typographic effect, easier to recognize on screen than to describe.
Adds a small mark after a listing title that reveals a short summary when you hover it.
Where that summary comes from. The excerpt, the post subtitle, the article TL;DR, or AI generated. The AI option is selectable only when the AI Blog integration is active.

How much the tooltip shows before it trims the rest.
The hover summary needs tooltips switched on, in VerbaTheme OptionsGeneralSite. With tooltips off, the mark has nothing to open.
#The two global blocks
The same page carries two more tabs, each for a block that floats over the site rather than sitting in the layout:
- Before you go: a recommended post shown when a visitor is about to leave.
- Floating card: a post card that stays on screen while somebody reads.
They have their own pages here. One piece of advice covers both: one surface over the content per page, not two.
#Questions
Where do I choose which posts appear in a list?
In the list itself. Every listing carries its own query settings: source, count, order, and filters. See Post listings.
The hover summary shows nothing
The source field is probably empty for that post. If the source is the excerpt and the post has none, there is nothing to show. Either write excerpts or switch the source to something the posts actually have.
Do drafts in listings hurt my SEO?
No. Search engine crawlers are not signed in, so they see the published list like any other visitor.
