How Verba uses Elementor - Verba

Verba works completely without Elementor, and no theme feature needs the plugin installed. Where Elementor is used, it builds the content of a page and nothing else.

People who see "Elementor supported" often build the whole site in it, then look inside Elementor for the header, the colors, and the fonts, don't find them, and conclude the theme is broken. This page sets out where the line runs.

#What Elementor does here

It builds page content: the front page, landing pages, any page you create. In every studio demo that uses Elementor, only page content is built with it. The header, the footer, the archives, and the post page aren't.

The Verba widgets sit in the Elementor panel under JKD Widgets, and they match the editor blocks one for one. See Elementor widgets and registered blocks.

Elementor's own containers also get a Layout Utilities panel, so a section can take a theme surface without a hand-typed color.

#What Elementor doesn't do here

The theme doesn't read Elementor global colors, global fonts, or other global settings. Colors and fonts come from AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeTheme Styles, and content width comes from the theme as well. The one-time Elementor setup that keeps the two from competing is in Elementor settings to configure once.

The header, the footer, dark mode, typography, and page headers all belong to the theme. See the header, the footer, and basic settings in the Customizer.

#The header, footer, archive, and post can still be replaced

Theme Options can render a saved Elementor template in place of the header, the footer, the archive, or the post body. That has its own page, overriding theme templates with Elementor. It's possible, and it isn't the recommended route.

#Why building the whole site in Elementor isn't advised

A full Elementor build adds page weight and costs speed, and its global layers interact with the theme in ways that are hard to keep stable. The theme is built for performance, accessibility, and SEO, and a whole-site Elementor build costs more on those than it gives back.

You can still choose a full Elementor build, knowing the cost.

If what you want is above the last two rows, the setting is in the theme, and looking for it in the builder will cost you an afternoon.
