Advanced single post settings in Theme Options

The single post Pro
This article covers functionality available to customers on the Pro version.

With the Pro plugin, the article page can be drawn by an advanced layout configured at VerbaTheme OptionsSingle Post. Nothing on that page applies until you switch it on, so a site that had the free theme keeps looking the same after Pro is installed.

#Switch to the advanced layout

Open the source setting

Go to VerbaTheme OptionsSingle PostGeneral, group Layout.

Choose Advanced

Set Single Post Source to Advanced. The other groups and tabs on the page open up.

Check a real post

Open a published article. The settings you configured in the Customizer no longer apply to it; the ones on this page do.

Native, the default, keeps the free theme's page and its settings at AppearanceCustomizeVerba ThemeSingle Post. Elementor Template and Block Pattern replace the whole page with a template. See Building a post from a block pattern and Building a post with an Elementor template.

#What each tab holds

General

The page around the article: layout, appearance, sidebar, breadcrumbs, the sponsored disclosure, sharing, injected blocks, the reading bar, and floating navigation.

Header

The header style and everything in it. See Post header styles.

Body

The blocks around the article text: summarize, sources, TL;DR, key points, table of contents, and in-article injection. See Reading aids.

Footer

Tags, likes, comments, the author bio, post navigation, and the footer share block.

Related Posts and Read Also

The two listings at the end of the article. See Related posts and read also.

The sections below cover the groups that have no page of their own.

#Layout and appearance

Wide, boxed, or custom. Custom adds Content max width.

Draft and scheduling notices and the edit shortcut, for signed-in editors.

Continuous reading. See Continuous reading.

Starts the first paragraph of each post with a large initial letter.

Separates the parts of the post with divider lines. Outer frame draws the lines down both edges.

Space between the sections of a post, and above and below its content.

Holds the text to Reading width. Apply the reading width to picks the parts that follow it (article text, post header, post footer), and Narrow the header image too includes the image.

The sidebar shows whatever is in the Single Post Sidebar widget area at AppearanceWidgets.

Right, left, or No sidebar.

A button that slides it in, stacked under the article, or hidden. With the button, Where the button sits, Button style, and Sidebar title set its look.

Keep it in view while the article scrolls, pinned to the top or the bottom.

How the column itself is drawn and sized.

Show breadcrumbs (default: on) and Breadcrumbs placement: in the post header, or above the whole post.

The Sponsored Disclosure group decides where the sponsor line appears on posts marked as sponsored: above the thumbnail (the default), above the header, above the body, above the footer, or not at all. Sponsored style sets its surface and Logo height the sponsor logo. The sponsor's name, link, and logo are set on each post. See Post fields.

#Floating navigation

Enable floating navigation (default: off) pins previous and next post tabs to the edges of the screen, desktop only by default. Hovering one opens a preview card. The rest of the group sets the card: its width, the thumbnail, the format badge, the category, how the title is trimmed, the author and date, and the animation.

Tags

Show tags, and Limit tags with a count and a Show all link.

Author Bio

Author bio (default: on) shows a card about the author under the article: avatar, name, position, social profiles, the description, the categories they write about most, a link to their archive, and co-authors. Each part has its own switch. The profile itself is filled in on the user. See Author profile fields.

Post Navigation

Links to the previous and next post. Navigation scope follows publish order, or stays inside a category or tag. Wrap around links the newest post forward to the oldest, and the rest of the group sets the cards.

Likes and comments are covered in Likes, views, and comment voting and Comments.

I changed a Customizer setting and the post didn't change

With Single Post Source set to Advanced, the Customizer's single post settings no longer apply. Make the change here instead.

Every group on the page is greyed out

Single Post Source is set to Native, Elementor Template, or Block Pattern. Only Advanced opens them.

Where is the review scorecard?

On the Body tab, in Review Scorecard, which appears only while the Reviews integration is active. See Reviews integration.
