Category fields - Verba
Categories get their own fields on the term edit screen. Go to PostsCategories, open a category, and look for the Media and Identity sections and the Featured Post field below them.
#Category media
What shows in this category's header and on its cards. None, an image, or a video.
The image, for the image option.
Self-hosted, YouTube, or Vimeo, for the video option. Each source then asks for the file (Self-hosted Video) or the URL (YouTube Video URL, Vimeo Video URL).
This visual is used in two places: the header of the category archive, and any card where the category itself is shown, such as a category grid. Set it once and both follow.
The archive header only uses it when VerbaTheme OptionsArchiveGeneral has Archive Source set to Advanced and Show Related Image turned on in the Page Header group. See Advanced archives.
Video headers cost bandwidth on every visit to that archive. Keep the clip short, quiet, and well compressed.
#Identity
A small icon that marks this category in the search palette and in category lists and grids built with term listings.
#Featured post
Pin one post above this category's archive listing. The list only offers posts that belong to this category.
The pin only shows on archives built by the Advanced archive source. The default Native source ignores it and picks its featured post from the Customizer settings instead.
The same field exists on tags and on author profiles, and it behaves the same way in all three: one post, lifted out of the list and placed above it.

My category image does not appear on the archive
Check that Category Media is set to image, then that Archive Source is Advanced and Show Related Image is on in Theme Options. The native archive does not read category media.
Can a category have both an image and a video?
No, the media field picks one. Set the video and it replaces the image in the places that visual is used.
